Renault regularly releases new electric vehicle models, and every new car has a lot of improvements over previous versions. The 2017 Renault ZOE has a 41 kWh battery, which gives it up to 300 km of range. The car may well claim the championship in the "everyday EV" category. Interaction between the driver and the car control system is perfectly implemented here. And the main advantage of Renault Zoe over other EVs is a powerful on-board charger with a 22 kW capacity, which allows you to fully charge the car from an AC station in just 2 hours.
An excellent control system, long range on one battery charge, and an attractive design - all at a fairly affordable price!
To achieve their goals, the engineers have taken the basic architecture of the modern Renault Clio and installed a 65 kW electric motor in the engine compartment (in 2015, the engine was upgraded for additional efficiency).
A 41 kWh lithium-ion battery is located under the seats. The first-generation car is equipped with a 22 kWh battery.
Under the most favorable conditions, it is possible to drive up to 186 mi on a single charge. However, in daily use, it is best to count on the actual range at 155 mi and while at low temperatures the car will travel up to 125 mi.
The second-generation Renault Zoe is perfect for both city commutes and mid-range trips outside the city and acts well as either a main or second car. It also has a solid power reserve, so there's little worrying about the remaining energy throughout the day, and the charging port quickly replenishes the power reserve when needed.
The interior of Renault Zoe is not much different from the Clio, but it is more spacious, prestigious and high-tech, as expected in an electric car. Renault tried to create a modern, minimalist design with a bright finish.
Plus, the more complete package includes a sound generator, a device to check the battery level remotely, air conditioning and heating, a navigator, an ionizer with air fragrance, and an R-Link infotainment system. The air conditioner maintains the preferred level of humidity in the cabin, while the air toxicity sensor in the cabin will block harmful substances from inside by automatically closing the vents.
